RWANDA GICUMBI PB - FILTER

Rwanda Gicumbi PB is a specialty coffee from the Gicumbi region of Rwanda, made from the Red Bourbon variety. Thanks to careful washed processing and exceptional growing conditions, this coffee stands out with a remarkably complex and intriguing sensory profile.

The beans come from the high, green hills of Gicumbi-Bukure, where coffee grows at elevations above 2,000 meters. There, women from the Dukorere Kawa Bukure cooperative handpick ripe cherries and bring them to the washing station.

Each cherry first goes through the depulper, then into fermentation, where time and naturally occurring bacteria do their work, before being rinsed in clean water. This is the classic washed method for which Rwanda has earned its reputation - the process that gives these coffees their clarity, lightness, and freshness.

There is also a story behind this coffee - a piece of the everyday lives of the women who grow it, the families who depend on it, and the children who can attend preschool thanks to the support of Nova Coffee. It is also an example of how coffee can be exceptional not only in flavor, but also in the impact it creates.
