Harruu Bunnaqaa is driven from three Oromo words. Harruu is a large tree with a large shade where Oromo people usually gather under for traditional meetings, an alternative to another tree called “Odaa”. Bunnaqaa is driven from two words: “Buna” which is coffee and “Naqaa” is making and giving. There is this historical place in Guji called Harruu Bunnaqaa where the traditional leaders of Oromo called “Gadaa” and “Qaalluu” gather to share blessings, coffee and peace.

Coffee from this area is truly unique in its flavor and complexity, mostly because of the higher altitude and super-nutrient rich soil. It exhibits a range of distinct aromas and nuances, with lots of herbal, hops-like, floral and spicy notes.

This lot was processed as a natural – ripe cherries were dried on raised beds for 22 days. Despite the fact it is classified as Grade 2, it cups amazingly, with high intensity, sweetness and extraordinary fresh, herbal and floral notes.
